Eric J. Mattison was born in 1953 in Minneapolis , Minnesota and grew up in Willmar , Minnesota where he graduated form Willmar High School in 1971.  Eric attended Gustavus Adolphus College in St. Peter, Minnesota graduating with a B.A. in 1975.  Eric is a 1983 graduate of William Mitchell College of Law in St. Paul , Minnesota and has been admitted to the Courts of the State of Minnesota as well as the Federal District Court for the District of Minnesota.

Upon graduation from William Mitchell College of Law Eric joined the law firm of Dow, Einhaus & Mattison in 1983 which at that time was known as Casey, Tripp, Dow, Mikeworth & Einhaus.  Eric’s areas of practice include personal injury, commercial litigation, insurance law and corporate and transactional law.  In addition Eric continues to practice in the areas of probate and estate planning, real estate and family law.

 Eric’s professional affiliations include membership in the Steele County Bar Association, the Minnesota Fifth District Bar Association and the Minnesota State Bar Association.  He has served as President of the Steele County and Fifth District Bar Associations. He is a member of the Minnesota Trial Lawyers Association, the Minnesota School Board Association and the Council of School Board Attorneys.

 Eric is an active member of his church having served on the Council and as a convention delegate.  He has served as a commissioner on the Owatonna Public Utilities Commission and as a board member on the boards of directors for Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Steele County, Owatonna Area Hospice, Wee Pals Child Care Center , United Way of Steele County, Steele County Red Cross and the Owatonna Business Incubator.
